Halfkit vs Syft

Halfkit vs Syft

Syft Analytics has one of the deepest consolidation engines around, and since 2024 it's owned by Xero. Halfkit covers the common cases for less, and connects the Indian ledgers Syft doesn't.

Which fits

Fair answers first.

Both are good tools for different jobs. Here's where Syft is the better pick, and where Halfkit is.

Where Syft is stronger

Choose Syft if…

  • You buy or sell subsidiaries during the year and need acquisitions and disposals handled in the consolidation. Halfkit doesn't model these.
  • Your group is large or complex: Syft supports unlimited entities.
  • You want a product owned by your ledger vendor. Syft has been part of Xero since 2024.
  • You're in Australia with up to 5 entities: Xero Ultra bundles Syft with consolidation.
  • Your companies use ledgers other than the four Halfkit connects.
  • You report in a currency Halfkit doesn't offer yet, such as AUD or NZD.

Where Halfkit fits

Choose Halfkit if…

  • Any company is on Zoho Books or TallyPrime. Syft connects neither.
  • Your consolidation is the common case: eliminations, currency translation with a CTA line, and NCI, without acquisitions or disposals mid-year.
  • You file in India: Schedule III under Ind AS (Division II), and you can pay in rupees.
  • You want the cash forecast, budgets and board pack in the same $12.99 per company.
  • Price matters at scale: 25 companies are $324.75/mo at Halfkit's list price, against $575 to $2,375 on Syft's per-entity tiers.

Pricing, worked out

What 3, 10 and 25 companies cost.

Syft prices per entity in three tiers, so each Syft figure is a range from its cheapest to its dearest tier.

3 companies

Halfkit$38.97/mo3 × $12.99 a month. Or $389.97 a year on annual (3 × $129.99).
Syft$69–$285/mo3 × $23, $47 or $95 per entity, depending on tier.

10 companies

Halfkit$129.90/mo10 × $12.99 a month. Or $1,299.90 a year on annual.
Syft$230–$950/mo10 × $23, $47 or $95 per entity.

25 companies

Halfkit$324.75/mo25 × $12.99 at list price. Over 10 companies we offer volume pricing, so ask for a quote.
Syft$575–$2,375/mo25 × $23, $47 or $95 per entity.

Monthly, in US dollars, before tax. Halfkit annual is $129.99 per company per year; in India, ₹999 a month or ₹9,999 a year per company. Syft figures are its published per-entity prices multiplied out; check which tier includes the consolidation features you need. Xero Ultra (Australia only) bundles Syft with consolidation for 5 entities; we haven't priced it here.

Switching

Moving from Syft to Halfkit.

What carries over, what doesn't, and how to check the numbers before you commit.

  1. Check your ledgers

QuickBooks Online and Xero connect over OAuth, and one Xero sign-in can connect several organisations. Add any Zoho Books or Tally companies you previously consolidated by hand.

  2. Acquisitions and disposals

If you rely on Syft for a subsidiary bought or sold mid-year, keep that adjustment outside Halfkit, or stay on Syft for that group.

  3. Ownership and rates

Set the share owned for each subsidiary. Halfkit uses ECB monthly averages unless you enter a rate, and an equity date keeps capital at its historical rate.

  4. Match a closed month

Run the same month in both during the free period; then close it in Halfkit so the figures stop changing.

Questions

Halfkit vs Syft: questions.

Xero owns Syft now. Does Xero consolidate by itself?

Not across organisations. Xero Analytics, built on Syft and live since January 2026, doesn't consolidate. Xero Ultra, available in Australia only, bundles Syft with consolidation for 5 entities. Our Xero consolidation guide has the detail.

Does Halfkit handle minority interests like Syft?

Yes for the common case: set the share owned and net income is split between owners of the parent and non-controlling interests, with NCI in equity. Syft goes further, with acquisitions and disposals, which Halfkit doesn't model.

How much cheaper is Halfkit?

At 10 companies, Halfkit is $129.90/mo; Syft is $230 to $950/mo depending on tier. Syft's higher tiers include more, so compare the tier you'd actually need.
