The Tally agent
TallyPrime is desktop software, so a small Windows .exe runs on the PC where it's installed and syncs once a day. Pick how it runs.
Scheduled task
Run the agent once with --install and it schedules itself to sync daily. Nothing to keep open.
Tray app · newer
halfkit_tally_tray.exe starts at logon without admin rights and syncs daily while it runs. It shows the last sync and its result, with Sync now, Open Halfkit and the log in its menu. Its sync token is stored encrypted in your Windows profile.
What leaves the PC
Mixing ledgers
Any company from any of the four can sit in the same group. Each keeps its own currency; Halfkit translates them into the group's reporting currency. Account mapping lines up different account names, and eliminations work across ledgers. See consolidation.
Reports are stored every night. If a connection breaks, Halfkit shows the last saved figures with a note saying so, rather than a blank page.

Questions
No. It reads reports from QuickBooks Online, Xero and Zoho Books, and receives balances from the Tally agent. It never creates or edits transactions.
The tray app doesn't: it starts at logon under your Windows user. The scheduled task is set up by running the agent with --install.
The agent reads Tally's built-in connector on port 9000, which answers while TallyPrime is running. The tray app suits a PC where Tally stays open all day.
Revoke access from QuickBooks, Xero or Zoho at any time, or stop the Tally agent. Admins can also disconnect a QuickBooks or Xero company from inside Halfkit.
Cloud ledgers connect over OAuth; Tally takes one small download. Each company gets 90 days free from signup (first 100 signups, with 100 AI credits).
